We’re looking for talented, reliable freelance football journalists to contribute to our editorial output across various content types. Whether you’re a match-day specialist, a transfer news chaser, a data-driven tactician, or a long-form storyteller — we want to hear from you.

This is a flexible, remote position ideal for freelancers looking to grow their byline and write for a fast-moving digital football brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Writing news articles, match reports, opinion pieces, features, or analysis depending on your strengths and availability
2. Pitching fresh ideas and reacting quickly to breaking stories
3. Covering live matches or events (Premier League, UCL, international tournaments, etc.) when needed
4. Adhering to deadlines and delivering clean, engaging copy
5. Using basic SEO and formatting best practices (we’ll help you if you’re new to this)

What We’re Looking For

1. Strong knowledge of football — from the top tiers to emerging stories around the globe
2. Excellent writing skills with a sharp editorial voice and attention to detail
3. Some experience in football journalism (professional, academic, or blog-based)
4. Ability to work independently and manage your own time
5. Familiarity with digital content platforms and tools (CMS, Google Docs, etc.)
6. Enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive mindset

Bonus Points If You Have:

1. Experience live blogging or covering games in real-time
2. Strong understanding of SEO or social media promotion
3. A niche — tactical insight, youth football, women’s game, football culture, etc.
4. Multimedia skills (e.g. video scripting, podcasting, data visualization)
