SPAR Nigeria is the local franchise of the global SPAR retail group, licensed to Artee Industries Limited—a diversified Nigerian conglomerate active in retail, real estate, manufacturing, and distribution since 1988.

It operates 14 hypermarkets/supermarkets across 5 cities, offering over 50,000 m² of retail space and serving more than 5 million shoppers annually.

Heritage & Brand Recognition

• The SPAR brand was introduced to Nigeria in 2009 via partnership with Artee Group. Since then, the brand has expanded through a mix of new builds and conversions.

• SPAR Nigeria offers an extensive product range: groceries, fresh bakery and butchery items, fruits & vegetables, meals/snacks, wines & spirits, electronics, appliances, mobiles, perfumes, watches, furniture, and clothing.
• During the COVID‑19 pandemic (from April 2020), SPAR introduced online ordering with home delivery, with a ₦2,000 minimum order and contactless deliveries in key Lagos areas.

• SPAR is a global supermarket chain with presence in 48 countries and about 13,900 stores worldwide as of 2024, offering various formats like SPAR, SPAR express, EuroSPAR, InterSPAR, and SuperSPAR. Nigeria contributes 14 stores to that global count.
