Opportunity: Unique opportunity for an early career individual looking to gain broad exposure to accounting in a global company. As the Assistant Account you will provide accounting and administrative support to Braemac in Australia and New Zealand. Be part of a friendly and knowledgeable team.

SCOPE

The Assistant Accountant provides accounting and administrative support to Braemac in Australia and New Zealand under direction of the CFO.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Review supplier expense invoices and route through the Accounts Payable approval process.
  • Coding of transactions in accordance with our Chart of Accounts and expenditure policies.
  • Administrator for Corporate credit cards using SAP Concur portal.
  • Review of fuel cards in accordance with the company policy and process in Business Central.
  • Collate information for the Annual FBT reporting for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Preparation of GST/BAS returns for selected Braemac entities.
  • Assist in Monthly and Annual Management accounts for selected Braemac entities including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist auditors with the annual audit including documentary evidence as requested.
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation for Braemac.
  • Assist in preparation of and recording of journal entries.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Receivable functions and assist whilst the staff are on leave.
  • Reconcile bank accounts via Business Central for selected Braemac Entities.
  • Support CFO and Finance Team by providing assistance in all areas requested, including but not limited to, special projects, cross training with team members, and researching emerging issues.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1-3 years accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience in using Accounting software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and account analysis skills.
  • Solid decision-making skills including ability to analyze impact of decisions before execution.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interact effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet required deadlines.
