Job Title: Bank Teller

Job Summary

  1. The Bank Teller is the primary point of contact for customers visiting the bank.
  2. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling financial transactions accurately and efficiently, and promoting the bank’s products and services.
  3. The ideal candidate will be a professional, customer-focused individual with strong numerical skills and a high level of integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and provide a high standard of service. Answer customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  2. Cash Handling: Process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and cash advances, with a high degree of accuracy.
  3. Compliance & Security: Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and security regulations to prevent fraud and protect customer information.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  5. Transaction Processing: Handle daily financial activities such as checking account balances, processing loan payments, and cashing checks.
  6. Product Promotion: Identify opportunities to cross-sell or refer bank products and services to customers.

Qualifications

  1. NCE / OND / HND or its equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
  2. Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  3. High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure and manage a high volume of transactions.
  5. Proficiency in using banking software and other relevant office tools.
  6. Strong numerical, analytical, and data entry skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
