Job Title: Turbine Operator

Location: Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  1. The Turbine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of turbines and associated equipment in the power generation facility.
  2. The role involves monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting turbine systems to ensure optimal performance while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate, monitor, and control steam, gas, or hydro turbines and related auxiliary systems.
  2. Record and analyze operational data such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
  3. Coordinate with maintenance teams during repairs and preventive maintenance.
  4. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.
  5. Maintain accurate logs, records, and shift reports.
  6. Respond to emergency situations and take corrective actions as needed.
  7. Start up and shut down turbines in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of turbines, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
  9. Identify, troubleshoot, and report abnormal operating conditions or malfunctions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience in turbine operations (power plant, refinery, or related industry).
  3. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  4. Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  5. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  6. Strong knowledge of turbine systems, power generation processes, and auxiliary equipment.
  7. Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA systems.
  8. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and schematic diagrams.
