Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial controls.
  • The role will support management with financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and decision-making while ensuring the organization’s financial operations are efficient and well controlled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of statutory and regulatory financial reports.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Identify financial discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support management decision-making.
  • Review financial transactions and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate audit activities and provide required financial information and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Strengthen financial controls and improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and accounting records.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and other financial activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial controls.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
